PARK(ing) Day 2009 - San Diego
On Friday September 18th, Sezio and Holiday Matinee participated in PARK(ing) Day -- an international sit-in, where metered parking spaces are transformed into urban parks for the day. The whole day was serendipitous to say the least... here's a recap.
With borrowed furniture from The Hive, we got set up around 10am in front of Burger Lounge in Little Italy. Leslee from the San Diego Architectural Foundation provided the foliage. Zack and Dave pictured above, blowing up the interweb.
It didn't take long for Officer Rasberry to notice something out of the ordinary on her block... Luckily Dave Brown smooth talked us out of a citation.
Salon Tonic came out and gave hair cuts on the side walk, while confused tourists snapped pictures from double-decker buses.
Dave Brown slapping some skin with an appoving mini driver.
The day capped with an impromptu performance from the one and only Steve Poltz. Man that guy can work a crowd... watch for yourself.
A big thanks to everyone who came out to visit, especially; Greg for the NewGrass, Burger Lounge for free lunch, Numero for the waters and Officer Rasberry for not giving us a ticket..!
