As I continue to take in a variety of live music, I'm finding a recurring theme separating local bands from touring acts. Maybe it does take hitting the road to "dial in your sound", but the volume levels should be something controlable by anyone plugged into an amp or hitting some drums.
Vetiver came down from San Francisco and demonstrated how effective playing softly can be. Holwerda and I stood a foot off stage, conversed about band members "playing to the song", and watched the crowd enjoy the performance.
