Ben Sollee w/ Joel P West

Sushi Art | 8/18/2010

During an unrehearsed encore, Ben Sollee and Joel P West covered "Wild World" by Cat Stevens at their mid-August show.  Featuring Kelly Bennett on violin, the song surprised not only the Sushi Art audience, but also the musicians at how well they actually pulled it off.

The show kicked off Ben's latest bicycle-powered tour, this trek spanning the California coastline.  The bike valet was maxed out, and Sushi Art was filled for the send off performance.  Below are a selection of photos from the evening courtesy of Chadwick Gantes and Michael Spear.

Ben absolutely rips at cello, and has a beautiful singing voice to match.  The photo above brilliantly captures the spontaneous collaboration Ben and his drummer pull off in their live set.  To keep up with Ben's bike adventures follow along at BenSollee.com.
