Project 57

Distinction Gallery | 8/29/2008

Last week I made it up to Escondido, before Distinction took down their 5x7 Project. The Juxtapoz sponsored show featured around 100 artists, spanning five continents, who were all sent 5 by 7 inch birch panels. I was amazed at the quality of the pieces, and the intricate detail the artists fit into a confined space. The show spoke volumes for the taste of gallery owner, Melissa Walker. Here are a few of my favorites...

Josh Taylor - "Blind Master and Dragon Spirit"

Ahren Hertel - "untitled"

Linda Herzog - "Common Yellow Throat House"

Luis Lorenzana - "Nena"

Kevin Peterson - "Firmly Planted"

Kevin Keirns - "Bubbles"

Project 57 raised money for Lewy Body Dementia Association and was in loving memory of Charles Leslie Walker.  Distinction's next opening is September 13th, Natural Selection.
