Irradio to release "I am the Horn"

Fresh off their trip to SXSW, Irradio is set to release an album for the ages.  Led by the soulful lyrics of Dan Dasher and backed by the looping saxophone of Steven Welker, Irradio's reincarnation has been a successful one.  Produced by Mitch Wilson (No Knife), I am the Horn was recorded as one musical piece, but there a definitely a few standout tracks; check out Initiation on their Myspace.

Sunday, April 26th will be your first chance to grab a copy, when Irradio headlines the Casbah with support from Sayvinyl, Students & Demasiado.

David Choe

David Choe is a badass graffiti/graphic artist.  An art school drop-out, Choe grew up in Los Angeles and is one of the most prolific artists working today.  His work is super diverse in medium, painting anything and everything on literally anything and everything.

Check out these trailers for two of his short films, Whales and Orgies (2000) and Dirty Hands, Winner of the San Diego Asian Film Festival 2008.

A Run in with The Law...

I'm still reeling from last week / weekend.  The five nights at Luce Loft comprised the best week of my life, and I'd like to think a milestone in San Diego's music scene.  On the other hand, we're left with a loft full of furniture and minimal hauling capacity.  Alex, from Swim Party, was down today grabbing their PA when I convinced him to help me dump a couch somewhere around 16th St., thinking we'd be good samaritans and give someone less fortunate a place to sleep.  Little did we know, someone called the cops on us and we got pulled over 5 minutes after dropping the couch off on the Island Avenue bridge.  Luckily we were not ticketed, but we did go back and grab the couch - it will be at goodwill tomorrow.

MVM : Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton

Emily Haines has some really rad music videos. From human dominoes to infrared sunbathing, I think it's only right to do a double MVM today. Check out "Dr. Blind" and then "Our Hell".
