I got a ride home after The Soft Pack show this Saturday night by my girl Nikki G and was surprised to hear The Black Lips on her car stereo. I told her how much I want to see them and she warned me to stay in the back if I ever see their show. Apparently they are infamous for spitting pee from their mouths and other craziness. So if you are down, mark your calendar for Casbah's April 16th show. If not, maybe you can get a feel for them in this video taken from their Live at Rob's House DVD. Here is The Black Lips - "Cold Hands".

For some reason I've been coming across a lot of Phil Collins' covers lately. While nothing compares to the real "In The Air Tonight", (and that amazing build that leads up to drumming like a maniac on your car dashboard) Nightwaves did a decent job remaking it. Maybe I'm more stoked on their fan-like video that pulls clips from movies like Thrashin, The Keep, The Wraith, and Night Hawks.
