I got a ride home after The Soft Pack show this Saturday night by my girl Nikki G and was surprised to hear The Black Lips on her car stereo. I told her how much I want to see them and she warned me to stay in the back if I ever see their show. Apparently they are infamous for spitting pee from their mouths and other craziness. So if you are down, mark your calendar for Casbah's April 16th show. If not, maybe you can get a feel for them in this video taken from their Live at Rob's House DVD. Here is The Black Lips - "Cold Hands".

Last thursday Jedidiah and Sezio converted the Luce Loft into a mexican fiesta for the ages. Pinatas were flying, tacos and cervezas were consumed and a good time was had by all. If you didn't get the chance to print a T-shirt, email us (info@sezio.org) - we printed about 30 more after everyone left. Thanks to Jason Ward for the photos... enjoy.
To see the full album, visit Jedidiah's Flickr Page.

The San Diego Film Foundation is currently seeking film screeners to help create the program for their 7th annual festival in September. They are putting together a selection committee that will consist of 10 individuals who can rate films fairly to help decide which entries will be shown this year.
Each member of the committee picks up a package of 10 films every two weeks to screen, and returns them with ratings and comments. The programming director uses the committee's feedback to narrow down nearly 1,000 entries to approximately 75 feature, documentary, short films and music videos for the 2009 festival.
If you are interested in being a part of the 2009 Selection Committee, email Bekah at programming@sdff.org with your name, contact information and availability during the week for possible meeting times. The deadline for applicants is February 13th.

After a six-month hiatus from Ray @ Night, I showed up in January for Eliot Greenwald's closing reception. I was excited to see some new life on the street, with the addition of Enclothe and Milo Shoes / Gallery. Here are a few images from the evening.
Looking back on these pictures, I really wish I bought those shoes... After Ray St., we hiked up University to check out the giant floppy disc curtain at Art Produce.
The Curtain was made by Richard Gleaves, and can be seen until Feb. 22. Thanks Carly for the awesome pictures.
