Mattson 2 Benefit Show on Sunday

If you haven't heard the fantastic Mattson Two yet, there's a great opportunity to hear them this Sunday in Encinitas.  The brotherly duo have put together a benefit show to seek help in a time of need.  Both of their parents are facing serious health problems right now that have not only prevented them from being able to work (both are self-employed), but have piled up some large medical bills as well.  The family has put together this benefit show to gather financial help and there will be art for sale in addition to the musical performance.  The show is on Sunday, February 22nd at the Encinitas Elks Lodge, 1393 Windsor Road.  If you can't make the show but would like to help out the family, donations can be sent to:

Daytrotter shows San Diego some love

If you need a few free songs for the weekend, Daytrotter posted two great sessions this week from San Diego artists, Greg Laswell and Delta Spirit.  Good to see our city well represented on one of the best projects on the web.

Yeller Show Continues

If you missed the Yeller show last Friday, you missed an amazing set by The Mattson 2, but there's still a chance to see the work in the physical and digital form.  Yeller is holding gallery hours at MXD830 (830 25th street) this week and next week from 12-6 PM, and also have most prints up for sale on yellerstudio.com.  You can also see photos from the opening reception on the Yeller Flickr page.

MVM : Born Ruffians

Carly's out sick today...so I'm standing in for her on Music Video Monday. The end of this song may drag a little, but I have been watching this intro over and over again. The Born Ruffians are three young kids out of Toronto, and I just love this early record store performance of Barnacle Goose. Their album is awesome too, enjoy.
