As the madness of Comic Con approaches San Diego, we'd like to introduce you to a good friend and local comic maker named Randall Christopher. There's no doubt you been stuck behind Randall's fro at a concert before, as he is a big supporter of the local scene, but recently Randall asked the local community to support him and his comic making efforts. With the help of Kickstarter.com Randall raised close to $2,000 to print the second issue of Bear and Fox, a light hearted tale depicting the adventures of a bird and a snake.
Tonight at the Tin Can Ale House will be your first chance to pick up a copy of issue #2. Whether you supported Randall on Kickstarter or not, a free copy will be handed to everyone who comes out to the release party (although fiscal supporters get a handful of original sketches too). So before the madness of Comic Con begins, and you find yourself partying your ass off at Hard Rock trying desperately to squeeze into your 7th grade Wonder Woman costume, come out to Tin Can for a mellow beer, a comic book, and a couple animal related DJ sets.

Last week Crocodiles dropped their first music video off their sophomore release, due out this September via Fat Possum. The title track of the new record, Sleep Forever, showcases the bands relatively new five-piece lineup behind a haze of psychedelic color. Check out the video below, and grab the MP3 if you're into it.

When MCASD announced the lineup for their upcoming street art exhibit, Viva La Revolucion, I could barely believe what I read. The likes of Banksy, JR, Shepard Fairey and more transforming not only the museum but our fine city sounded too good to be true. A month out from the exhibit it still seemed unfathomable. Space Invader raided the downtown area, Barry Mcgee and crew threw up huge tags by city hall, but other than that it was fairly quiet.
It remained quiet until a week before Saturday's opening, when Mr. Obey Giant himself was spotted wheatpasting a giant wall in Hillcrest. Sezio photog Carly Ealey caught up with Shepard as he was putting the finishing touches on his mural, his two daughters standing by his side.
Next stop on the photo hunt was Horton Plaza to shoot Os Gemeos' freshly finished piece. The Brazilian twin brothers painted a massive human step ladder on the side of the mall's parking structure.

That concluded the night's mission, but there is sure to be plenty of action in the coming days before the opening. Os Gemeos will be down at Horton Plaza today (07.14) finishing up their install. Yet, there's still no word on Banksy (other than the fake that popped up in Little Italy).
View more shots of Invader, Os Gemeos and Shepard Fairey's installations in Carly's Flickr album, and we'll see you at MCASD's downtown location Saturday night for the big party!
Also of interest: our good friend Mike Maxwell has a couple videos over on his blog of the above installs. Check those out here.

We're teaming up with a bunch of great friends, and one giant airstream hosted by Threadless for an event tomorrow at Station Tavern in South Park. There will be pop-up stores, an art exhibit by Josh Boston, and some neighborhood tees screen printed live by Sezio. Cruise out between 5-8pm this Wednesday, and if you're feeling the vibe stick around for the after party at Whistle Stop.
