For those of you who missed our one-night opening at Subtext Gallery last Saturday, we're re-opening the show for a two month installation at The Hive in San Diego's East Village. Wednesday, June 23rd we'll host a slightly mellower opening reception free to the public from 6-9pm.
Jump over to Sezio's Facebook Page for event details, and a full gallery of each 12x12 panel. We have a bunch of great pieces still for sale. 50% of the proceeds go to the artist, and the remaining 50% support Sezio!

Sezio of the North is manning a booth at this weekend's THREAD Show in San Francisco. Heine, Gretchen, Dustin, Kyle and Taggart will be printing shirts, tanks, skirts or anything you want to bring from home. Gretchen just wrote me an email with their plan of action:
"Heading up there straight from work to grab Dustin and unload tonight. We're setting up a lounge with comfy chairs and a coffee table you can Sharpie on. We've got a few cool books, white Christmas lights, plants, candles... two nice big tables for screening and working... clothes rack, mannequin, clothes line, stools... sign up/inventory sheets, stickers, buttons... power strips, paper towels.... screens, flash dryer, paints, squeegees, spray solvent... tape, sock monkey, video camera."
THREAD SF will be held Saturday, June 19th at the Concourse Exhibition Center from 11am-6pm.

Today's sneak preview artist is OG Sezio homie, Grandlarsen. While Sezio is officially turning 2 this Saturday, our roots go back several years. I first spyed Grandlarsen's stencil art back in the day during one of our beatnik gatherings at the Ebers house on a sunny afternoon. I remember ogling all the amazing art on the walls and immediately feeling at home with my new friends. Before I start getting too sentimental, check out Grandlarsen's contribution below and see it in person at our 2 year anniversary event this Saturday at Subtext Gallery and The Casbah. Each artist in the show was given a 12x12 birch panel, and artistic freedom.

All week we'll be previewing artists and bands that will be highlighted at our 2 year anniversary event this Saturday at Subtext Gallery and The Casbah. We're starting off with Erik Otto and Mike Maxwell, both accomplished artists represented by SF's Shooting Gallery. Each artist in the show was mailed a 12x12 birch panel, and given free reign to create what they pleased. We are extremely pleased with their results..!

Erik Otto - It Began With A Dream - $425

Mike Maxwell - And So It Begins - $650

Saturday, June 12th Sezio will celebrate 2 Years of Sezio.org by throwing a block party on Kettner & Laurel. Subtext Gallery will play host to the first part of the evening, an art show including 20 artists previously featured on Sezio.org. We are thrilled to include artists from New York, Chicago, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and a handful from San Diego. Each artist was mailed a 12x12 birch panel (pictured below), hand-crafted by Wes Bruce under the tutelage of Mike Maxwell. We've also arranged for Little Deadman to play a set in the Subtext courtyard, and for beverages to be provided by Evolve Wines, Honest Tea and Karl Strauss Brewing Company.

The art opening will run from 6pm - 10pm, with the evening transitioning over to The Casbah around 9:30. The musical lineup features Writer, Cuckoo Chaos, Trouble in the Wind and Knorphus in the Atari Lounge. Admission to Subtext is free and all ages, The Casbah will be a $10 cover and 21+. Pre-purchase your tickets here.
