Charles and I email some pretty weird stuff to each other throughout the work week, but this has got to be the weirdest from him yet. Check out Ratatat's "Drugs" video below and feel as creepy and uncomfortable as I do.

In late February, I flew out to icy Detroit with Dave Brown to be wined and dined by Ford Motor Company. On our second night in the motor city, our group was escorted to The Majestic for an all-you-can-eat buffet of food, beer and bowling. Throughout our first game, there was a band sound checking on a stage built over the middle four lanes of the alley. By the time we were a couple pitchers deep, the lights were hit, and said band grabbed all of our attention real quick.
Fast forward six months and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. is on every major music blog in the country (Pitchfork, Stereogum, Daytrotter). Luckily we had the inside track, and teamed up with Future Sounds and Indigenous to book thier first west coast tour, heading for San Diego this fall. Saturday, September 11th Dale Jr. Jr. will hit Bar Pink with Jamuel Saxon for The Rumble. Check out their video for "Nothing But Our Love" below, and grab their debut EP here.

August 11th marks the launch of a five-month DJ Series at one of our favorite bar/restaurants in San Diego. On the second Wednesday of the month, Sezio will send a staff member to Starlite to spin some records. Beyond the standard 10% Sezio Member discount, Starlite will offer $5 Jargaritas and food specials for the evening.
Kicking off the series will be Jordan Karnes, aka DJ Judy. Jordan's heading up to grad school in SF later this month, so cruise out to bid her fairwell and listen to some summer jams. Music starts at 10pm sharp. Facebook event page here.
