MVM : Mountain Man

I'm up in Los Angeles for the day, getting all hyped up on coffee for Invisible Children's holiday benefit show tonight at The Troubadour.  The evening's extremely stacked lineup boasts the debut performance of Middle Brother, the Delta Spirit + Deer Tick + Dawes side project.  There's another trio on the bill which I'm pretty excited to catch for the first time as well, the lovely ladies in Mountain Man.

MVM : Dirty Gold

San Diego high schoolers, Dirty Gold, have been gaining a steady amount of blog attention over the past couple months for their single/video, California Sunrise. And deservedly so, the track is a jam. Brothers, Lincoln and John Ballif, have teamed up with drummer Grant Nassif for the band's debut live show(s) this month. Tin Can Alehouse this Friday, December 17th followed by an all ages show at Che Cafe on Thursday, December 23rd. Check out the video for California Sunrise below, and get yourself to Tin Can on Friday.

Throw the kids a buck on their bandcamp page if you'd like to download the track.

MVM : The Growlers

As evident in the above video (and pretty much all of their videos), The Growlers are some odd dudes who play surf-inspired rock.  Fresh off their newest release, Hot Tropics, we're excited to host the Long Beach natives at The Casbah later this month. Wednesday, December 29th Sezio presents The Growlers with two of our home town favorites, Little Deadman and Writer.

Grab your tickets early, and save a couple bucks...

Family Wagon : Teleblaster

Local garage-rockers, Family Wagon, are set to release their debut album this Monday night at The Casbah. I've heard rumors of their raucous live show throughout the year, but I haven't caught this four piece live yet. I think Monday will serve as a proper introduction. Joining them will be Dead Feather Moon, and San Francisco's Stone Foxes. Tickets are $10 at the door, and will probably move quickly.
