Claiming Youth Lagoon's debut record as my album of the year might be an understatement. Year of Hibernation is aptly titled for two reasons; first, the year Trevor Powers spent in his Boise bedroom crafting these amazing recordings, and second the year I want to spend in my bedroom soaking them in. Preview "July" from the eight track album below, and then immediately pre-order the vinyl (for only $10!) from Fat Possum here. Youth Lagoon makes their San Diego debut Sunday, September 4th at the Tin Can Alehouse with TV Girl and Lady Day. Your attendance is mandatory.

Check out the record's opening track below along with the creeped-out video for "Jungle" and catch Ganglians live tonight with Cuckoo Chaos & Little Deadman. You can also pre-order the LP from Lefse Records, we highly suggest you do so.

After their debut single was swiped from the internet last month, Trung and Brad of TV Girl wrote a well crafted letter to the music industry at large. It appears that they've also been busy writing new songs, announcing last night via Facebook that their new EP is ready and available for download. On first listen, it's pretty solid - maybe they won't need the help of Todd Rundgren after all.
Stream the four tracks below and download them for free on Facebook.

I've been on a mad search for my summer jam lately, and I think I just found two of them, both courtesy of Los Angeles-based Oregon Bike Trails. Santa Monica's Zach Yudin seems to enjoy the sun and beach life, and in his down time he's busy writing infectious pop songs. Check out "Come On Come On" and the music video for "High School Lover" below, and keep your eyes peeled for OBT to show up in a San Diego venue in the not too distant future.
