This Friday night we have a trio of California bands playing at Soda Bar. San Francisco's Birds & Batteries and LA's So Many Wizards will co-headline the night, which will also feature bay area groovers Dogcatcher. Have a listen below, and cruise out Friday for an eclectic mix of upbeat jams. Tickets are $8 bucks at the door, and music will start just after 9pm (21+).

Woods, the flagship band of Brooklyn's Woodsist Label, makes an annual pilgrimage to the West Coast, joining fellow label mates for a two day festival in Big Sur. Most years, they'll make a trip down the coast to Los Angeles, but they haven't played San Diego since 2008 with Wavves at the Che Cafe'.
We fell in love with Woods the following year, largely due to the release of Songs of Shame, the below video, and one of the best Daytrotter Sessions ever. Needless to say, we are thrilled to bring one of our favorite bands back to San Diego!
Woods plays Soda Bar this Thursday night with Wet Illustrated and Little Deadman. Doors at 8pm, Music at 9pm. 21+, $10.

One of our goals at Sezio is to make sure touring bands don't skip over San Diego. Sometimes we'll email a band and their agent every couple months for a year or two, until we get a date booked with them in our fair corner of the country. Such was the case with Real Estate, our persistency finally paying off when they headlined our Four Day Weekend festival last November.
Well, we're happy to announce that the New Jersey trio has already scheduled a return trip to SD, playing the Belly Up Tavern this Thursday with Sun Araw and Jeans Wilder (presented by Casbah). We have a pair of tickets to give away for the show, and here's how you can win them! We're sending you on a photo scavenger hunt around San Diego, and you need to capture five images, each one a direct reference to these song titles from Real Estate's debut record:
"Beach Comber"
"Pool Swimmers"
"Suburban Dogs"
"Green River"
"Suburban Beverage"
Entries will be judged on overall style of photos, cleverness of subject matter, and timely submission. Please upload your five original images (no Google Image search!) to an album on Facebook or Flickr and email the link to info@sezio.org. Submissions must be emailed by midnight on Wednesday, the winning entry will be announced at 10am on Thursday morning. Happy hunting...

In 2010, a young kid from Long Beach nicknamed Avi Buffalo released one of our favorite records of the year. The self-titled debut came out on Sub Pop in April, and by the Fall Avi was touring all over the place, including a show at our inaugural Four Day Weekend.
Avi Buffalo is returning to San Diego for two shows in August, debuting some new material and playing with some great SD-based acts. Below are the details for his Mini San Diego Residency presented by Sezio, we hope you can make it out for one or both of the performances!
Tuesday, August 7th @ Soda Bar
w/ Jeans Wilder and Kera & The Lesbians
9pm, 21+, $10. Tickets here.
Tuesday, August 14th @ Tin Can Alehouse
w/ Chairs Missing
9pm, 21+, $10. Tickets here.

Wow! What an amazing day Sunday, July 22nd in Golden Hill. One of San Diego's finest communities came out in droves to celebrate local music, art, food, and beer at the Golden Hill Street Fair hosted by Sezio and the Greater Golden Hill CDC. We are insanely proud of how this event turned out, and how positive the vibe and response was from everything throughout the day. A big thanks to all of the artists, musicians, and vendors that partcipated and made this a smash hit! Also a huge thank you to the City of San Diego and the EDTS grant that made this all possible! Hopefully we'll see you next year :)
