Cuckoo Chaos has released an albums worth of home recordings, most of which have never seen the light of day until now. In a fundraising effort for their sophomore record, they've put 11 tracks on their Bandcamp Page for $10 bucks. There is some definitely magic in these jangly, rough songs, and we believe this band is well worth supporting. Check out "The Ballad of What Was" below, along with a bonus 12th track, an early version of their hit Jamb Song.
Grab the full record here! Do it. And you can catch Cuckoo Chaos live in San Diego on January 25th at Soda Bar, and at The Loft at UCSD on the 30th with Akron Family.

Sezio hosted a special Election Night celebration at Luce Loft with one of our favorite bands, Dark Dark Dark. Ending their US tour in our fair city, it was good to see our Minneapolis friends back on the west coast. They brought with them some beautiful new songs from their sophomore LP Who Needs Who, and also the lovely Emily Wells to open up the show. Below are some photos Wes Bruce snapped of the evening, and also an iPhone video of a new, driving track that Emily captivated the room with. Thanks to our buddy Anthony for the clip!

It's been a good while since we've anticipated a new record's release as much as the full length debut of Los Angeles' Lord Huron. After an amazing performance at last Fall's Four Day Weekend, we've been anxiously awaiting their return to San Diego as well. We're happy to announce that both of those wishes will be granted very soon.
On October 8th Lord Huron will release Lonesome Dreams, and on November 1st their US tour will wrap up at The Casbah. Check out a couple tracks from their fantastic LP below, and grab your tickets here! Pacific Air (formerly KO KO) and Jeans Wilder will open up the show. (Grab Lonesome Dreams and other Lord Huron gear here.)

Back in June, The Tree Ring previewed a beautiful batch of new songs downtown at Luce Loft. Featuring some talented stand-ins from the classical group Camarada, the new tracks will make up The Tree Ring's sophomore album, which is being funded in part by The San Diego Foundation. Film maker Destin Cretton was on hand to capture the moment, adding to his amazing collection.
Check out a dual-perspective video of "Shoulder Seasons" below, and be sure to save the date Saturday, October 27th on your calendar. The Tree Ring will be headlining the Birch North Park Theater celebrating their record release and supported by The Shivers! Tickets are on sale now, so grab yours today!
