The people who brought you every place you like in San Diego (Casbah, Whistle Stop, Turf Club, Starlight) are opening their new cook-your-own-steak joint in La Mesa this Friday, The Riviera Supper Club and Turquoise Room. Tim Mays recently passed the Turf Club off to new management and the idea of his new project seems to be a bigger/better/more take on the same idea. Not only has the menu (and grill to cook the menu) expanded with sides like macaroni and cheese and baked beans as well as more steaks, the La Mesa location boasts a separate bar area, booths for 20+ people, and more than enough parking. Not quite as bike-able as the Golden Hill classic, but all chatter coming from those who attended the soft opening make it sound worth the drive.

With style and supplies that could be found in fourth grade art class, UK artist, Jean Jullien brought this gallery wall to life with his vibrantly colored cut outs. Click here to check out all of the pictures.

This isn't exactly a music video but I couldn't resist sharing Cory Chisel & The Wandering Son's "Home In The Woods"...

Dr. Dog's latest release, Fate, has that addicting quality that few records posess these days. Yet, my favorite track from the Philly based five piece happens to be a cover they did for Architecture in Helsinki. I have not stopped playing this song for 10 months.
Dr. Dog - 'Heart it Races'
On a side note, Laundro Matinee produced a few videos with Dr. Dog performing tracks off their latest album. Enjoy 'The Old Days'.
