MVM : Micachu & The Shapes

I felt like I was on some serious uppers last Friday after downloading and listening to this album, Jewellery by Micachu & The Shapes. So much so that while dancing around my room, I grabbed my brushes and a fresh piece of wood and started a new painting. This track, "Golden Phone" is one of the more infectious.

Sezio To Preview New Designs At Thread

We spent all week burning screens and collecting new summer colored blanks in anticipation for tomorrow's Thread Show.  Working with our most recently featured artists, Exist 1981 and Jolby, we have a new batch of screens that we're really excited to print.  Below are a couple examples and all the details about Thread:

Thread Show is tomorrow from 11-5pm in an abandoned department store in Horton Plaza (above Sam Goody).  Details here.

We'll also be previewing a set of San Diego neighborhood tees, designed by Josh Boston specifically for our Bar Basic event on Tuesday.  Be the first to proudly rep your hood..!

A Field Guide To San Diego

A month ago, Ford Motor Company gave Dave Brown (of Holiday Matinee) and Zack Nielsen (of Sezio) the above Ford Fiesta, a gas card, a fully loaded MacBook Pro and a Canon Digital SLR.  The only catch was we have to spend Ford's money on a variety of creative missions all over San Diego, and include all of you in the process.

Our first task was to create a mural, highlighting San Diego's neighborhoods and 10 of our favorite spots around town.  We teamed up with Josh Boston, to create this piece, which was then installed on the corner of Redwood & 30th, between South & North Park.

To culminate this first mission, we'll be throwing a huge party at Bar Basic on April 13th, featuring a pop-up store from M Theory, Igloo and Subtext.  But before we park the Ford Fiesta inside of Bar Basic, we'll be hitting up the other 9 locations throughout this week.  Cruise out and hang with us on our Fiesta Tour, and enjoy a variety of hook-ups from each business if you mention Ford Fiesta.  We may even let you test drive the car, if you ask us nicely...

Wednesday, April 7th
12-1pm : Free Coffee at Influx in Golden Hill
6-8pm : 15% off at The Linkery in North Park

Thursday, April 8th

Saturday, April 10th

MVM : Joel P West and The Tree Ring

You may have already caught this endearing live music video of Joel P West and The Tree Ring last week when it was being tweeted around the Seziosphere. Either way it is worth several viewings, and it just so happens that there is a special show coming up real soon. Check out the event page here.

Silent Comedy's Full Length Pre-Release

The Silent Comedy have collaborated with Mike Maxwell again, this time for the cover art of a full length release entitled Common Faults.  While the Zimmerman brothers sift through record deals to find the right suitor, they've decided to distribute a pre-release of sorts to their close friends and fans.  Mixed by the band, this first listen will be available for a limited time only and Friday at The Casbah is your first chance to snag a copy.  If you can't make the show on Friday, you can order a compact disc here, or go to El Dorado on the 29th.

Also, check out a great interview with Jeremiah at Owl & Bear.
