Musician and artist Andy Ralph and his freewheeling imagination are at it again. By taking ordinary objects and rearranging them to create improbable situations, Ralph splits open our idea of the commonplace where industrial methods create unusual yet hypnotizing art.
His most recent work, Lawn Chairs, was part of one of the summer's more picturesque group shows, Here Not There at MCASD La Jolla where he joined some of San Diego's most well known and prolific artists.
Ralph will be showing his latest installation at the 2010 California Biennial at the Orange County Museum of Art which surveys the state's "most innovative contemporary visual artists."
You can see Ralph's work at the California Biennial showing October 24th through March 13th, 2011 alongside a strong San Diego cast headlined by David Adey and Brian Dick.

The bearded men of Tape Deck Mountain recorded a session with Daytrotter earlier this year up in San Francisco. The four tracks dropped this month in preparation for their trip out to New York for CMJ. Help send off Tape Deck this Friday at Tin Can Alehouse, and before you do grab their Daytrotter session.
If you happen to be in New York next week, Tape Deck is playing a great showcase alongside Cloud Nothings, Beach Fossils and San Diegans Lesands.

If you don't have a ticket to this Thursday's sold out Foals show, I suggest you lie, cheat, and steal your way into one. One of the best bands I've ever seen live, Foals, will grace the Casbah stage for what seems to be their first time. (I saw them at Brick by Brick a couple of years ago, insane.) Here is the slightly creepy music video for "Blue Blood" in which a young boy lip syncs to the band. Foals make a cameo in the beginning of the video. Check it out.

We've got some bad news and some good news, let's start with the bad. The mega-bill of LCD Soundsystem & Hot Chip was cancelled due to lack of advance ticket sales to their RIMAC Arena show. The good news, Hot Chip rescheduled to play House of Blues on the same date (this Wednesday) and we've got a pair of tickets to give away!
The first person to solve the following equation will get their name +1 on the guest list: Hot Chip + 10 Gin & Tonics = ___________?
Email your answer to info@sezio.org, or you can just buy your tickets here.

Hot Chip + 10 G&Ts = a good night. This we learned on our bay area trip earlier this year. Congrats to our winner Elizabeth Eguez. Some incorrect, but hilarious responses included: children, hot mess, one life stand, and a DUI waiting to happen followed by a great big hangover.
