Karl Strauss' annual Beach To Brewery beer and music festival is less than a month away, and they're touting a great local lineup. Little Deadman will open up the festivities, with their first show in months after recording their forthcoming record. Cuckoo Chaos and Blackout Party will follow with Stranger, Karl Strauss' employee filled house band, to headline.
Sezio will be on hand this year screen printing some band, artist, and KS t-shirts live. There will be over 20 beers on tap, plus all of the proceeds go to San Diego's Surfrider Chapter. Grab your tickets early, this event sells out every year.

This Friday freak-folk band Chairs Missing will take over the Park Gallery in University Heights, bringing with them a set of fire dancers, a balloon artist, and an "oddly alluring" flea circus. The evening will double as a music video shoot for Chairs Missing's forthcoming single "To The Hills". Cruise out at 8pm this Friday in costume to get in for free, getting your face painted at the door also scores you a free ticket. If you missed Chairs Missing's performance at Four Day Weekend, have a look-see below, plus you can grab their free EP here.

TV Girl and Dirty Gold hit the blogosphere around the same time last year, then they played a couple shows together, and now they've released a spilt 7 inch. Both fledgling bands covered each other's song for this digital release. Stream the two tracks below and bounce over to TV Girl's Facebook page to download both songs in exchange for an email address. TV Girl plays Soda Bar on Friday, April 15th and Dirty Gold plays The Loft at UCSD on Saturday, April 16th.

Sezio sprouted from a white house on Ebers Street in Ocean Beach, California. At any given time there was someone screen printing in the garage, painting on the front porch and playing piano in living room or guitar on the roof. There was no lack of creative outlets or inspiration. The ring leader of this house was Andrew Heine, a multi-instrumental musician who also pursued fine art, sharpie tagging, and graphic design. When Andrew wasn't in band practice for Blackout Party or Irradio, he was writing his own songs on the house piano or his guitar under the moniker of Dogcatcher (Just so you have a reference, there's a mix tape I made for Set & Drift with a fine collection of these early house recordings).
Andrew has since relocated to the Bay Area, and has been dedicating time after work to log hours in the studio to release the long-awaited debut, KILR by Dogcatcher. Grab a few free tracks on their bandcamp page, and keep your eyes out for a follow up EP this summer.
